PRATIQUES, a melting pot of experiences Technical notes in English
Présentation en français

Inter Aide, Essor and Initiative Développement (I.D.). have set up a network of exchanges named "Pratiques" in 1997. Since then, Entrepreneurs du Monde (EdM) and Pro Action Développement (PAD) have joined the network. Pratiques aims at improving the quality and impact of development programmes implemented by these 5 NGOs and their partners in developing countries.

The experiences and practices are disseminated through:

Pratiques is a network of exchange. It aims at
improving the quality and impact of development programmes
implemented by the NGOs that have signed the Inter Aide Charter,
by facilitating the exchange of ideas and methods
between programme managers and field teams.

Pratiques was created in 1995, after Essor and Initiative Développement (I.D.). and Inter Aide signed a common charter. Since then, Entrepreneurs du Monde (EdM) and Pro Action Développement (PAD) have joined the network. Pratiques really started in 1997 with the dissemination of 21 technical notes relating the experience of the credit programme in Manila.

These exchanges are organized between the programmes managers and field teams working with Essor, Initiative Développement, Inter Aide, Entrepreneurs du Monde, Pro Action Développement and their partners (Concert-Action, ACDED, in Haiti, Uplift in the Philippines, GACC, GACC-Ma and APACC in Brazil... ), as systematic and external dissemination of information is not part of our mission. Yet, anyone can have access to the website and we hope the information it contains can be useful to other operators and NGOs.

The three channels of exchanges
technical notes (on line on Pratiques website)
field visits
thematic worshops
(the executive summaries are online on Pratiques website)

The technical notes are not prescriptive. Their purpose is not to "say what should be done" but to present experiences that have given positive results in the context in which they were carried out. "Pratiques" authors allow the reproduction of theses technical notes, provided that the information they contain is reproduced entirely.

PRATIQUES costs are taken in charge by I.A., ID, Essor, Edm and PAD's programmes (approx. 500 € / programme / year). The writing costs of the technical notes are taken in charge by the programme producing the notes. Fields visits are taken in charge by the programme that benefits from the visit.
